Norway (2022)

Our Senior Residents and Faculty went to Norway and taught Emergency Medicine Residents and Attendings Simulation and Ultrasound, and got to experience flight medicine.

  • Simulation Cases: Pediatric Drowning, Pediatric Status Epilepticus

  • US Lectures: Ocular, Gallbladder, Appendix, US guided LP, RUSH Exam

  • Panel on American Physician Training and how it differs from Norway

  • Flight: Ride-alongs and prehospital care - on the bus and helicopter. On the helicopter the crew was able to experience the geography of Norway and how they rely on it to bring in critical patients. Helicopters are manned by an anesthesiologist/critical care doctor, a nurse and the pilot. In the field, the team can do REBOAs, controlling massive hemorrhage.


 

Myanmar (2020)

In conjunction with the MAMES Project, Dr. Simon traveled to Myanmar with the Simulation Faculty in order to certify physicians in BLS and ACLS.
